The International SeaKeepers Society lists Eyesea among its standing program opportunities, inviting yacht owners anywhere in the world to contribute pollution data through the free app while at sea.
The true Eyes of the Ocean
SeaKeepers describes participating owners and crews as “the true Eyes of the Ocean,” providing invaluable data on maritime conditions through geotagged reports of plastic, oil spills, and marine debris. The program operates globally on an ongoing basis, with SeaKeepers providing resources, guidance, and reporting tips to vessels that sign up.
From data to classrooms
Beyond cleanup coordination, SeaKeepers notes that the pollution data is being introduced to schools across the Isle of Man, India, Chile, and beyond, feeding academic programs and educational curricula.
The partnership has since enrolled everything from private yachts to Clipper Race crews, documented month by month in SeaKeepers’ citizen science engagement reports.
